Birmingham put six pickleball courts in at Crestview Park, announced the 2026 opening, and runs the whole thing on a simple published schedule: open play for everyone from 9 a.m. to noon every day, then resident-only reservations from noon to 8 p.m. Courts are open to residents and non-residents alike, and the city publishes no general court fee: what casual play costs is simply not on the page.
The facilities page is direct about it: “Six pickleball courts at Crestview Park are now open for play,” with online reservations for Birmingham residents at the city’s recreation portal. There is no second Birmingham park with pickleball on the city’s lists, so everything in this guide runs through Crestview and the neighboring towns.

How Crestview actually works
The city’s published rules are a paddle-holder rotation: from 9 a.m. to noon, when the six courts are full, waiting players put a paddle in the holder, and the losing team comes off for the next group up. If a game is going with paddles in the holder, finished teams still rotate off. Courts are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; residents can book two hours per week for up to two weeks ahead, first come, first served. Kids under 12 need an adult on the courts, no pets or amplified music, and the city rents paddles and balls through the Parks and Recreation office.
What is published about cost, and who gets priority
No general court fee is published for ordinary play. The only dollar figure on the city’s pickleball page is the established $5-per-court fee for private classes, per two-hour reservation. Everything else about pricing is unstated, so confirm at the park or with the Parks and Recreation office if that matters to you. Non-residents can play, just without reservation access: the daily 9 a.m. to noon open play window, or unreserved courts after noon. Birmingham’s downtown park system is small, so the practical picture is one strong venue rather than a scattering of courts.
Indoor pickleball near Birmingham
Birmingham does not list indoor pickleball on its own pages, so winter play is a drive. PickleRage West Bloomfield, about 7 miles west, is indoor year-round; it publishes no public pricing on its homepage. Greystone Pickleball Club in Auburn Hills is roughly 10 miles north with 17 indoor courts and reservation-based play, and Life Time Troy, about 4 miles to the northeast, adds courts inside its membership model.
